Getting started
How long does onboarding take?
Roughly one hour. You sign up, pick your subdomain, paste your site URL, upload a logo, and answer 8 brand-profile questions. Knave reads your site, drafts the brand profile for you to correct, and ships the first content batch within 48 hours.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The two-week trial is no-card. Add a card before day 14 if you want to keep going. We email a reminder on day 11.
What's a 'cell' and why does Knave talk about them?
A cell is an isolated stack (Postgres, Inngest, R2, Resend) that runs a group of customers. We launched on one cell in EU-West and we'll add new ones as we grow. Your data lives in exactly one cell. See /corporate/status for the live picture.
Brand profile
How does Knave learn my voice?
It reads your existing site, your last 50 social posts (where public), and any writing samples you upload. The voice judge then holds every piece of content to that profile. You correct anything that's off in the first week and the model adapts.
Can I edit the brand profile after onboarding?
Yes, any time, in Setup. Common edits: tone sliders (formality / energy / warmth), banned words, signature phrases, audience segments. Changes apply to all content drafted from that moment forward.
What if Knave gets the brand wrong on day one?
Tell it. Edit the draft brand profile on the review screen during onboarding before any content goes out. If something slips through later, the approval queue is where you reject. The voice judge logs every rejection and re-tunes within 24 hours.
Content engine
What does Knave actually write?
Long-form blog, social posts (LinkedIn / IG / FB / X), email content (subject + preview + body + CTA), ad copy headlines, landing page sections, retention campaigns, and chat-widget replies. Image generation comes with every blog and social post. Everything is editable before publish.
How does the approval workflow work?
Default: every piece queues for your approval. You review on a single screen (web or via Discord webhook) and approve, edit, or reject. After 30 days of consistent approvals on a content type, you can move that type to autopilot. Regulated verticals (finance, legal, medical) keep approval permanently on.
Can I brief a specific campaign?
Yes. Open the brief screen, name the campaign, give it dates, paste any context. Knave drafts every piece in the cluster and queues them in order. You approve once, the schedule fills.
Integrations
Which email tools work?
Klaviyo (deepest), Mailchimp, Brevo. All three connect via OAuth in two clicks. Knave reads your existing flows and audiences and drafts new content into draft state, never published without your sign-off.
Which ad platforms?
Meta Ads and Google Ads on Plus and above. Knave drafts copy, headlines, and image variants. We do not autopilot ad spend without you flipping a per-campaign switch.
What about Shopify?
Shopify Admin connects on Solo and above. Webhooks: orders/created, products/update, customers/create, checkouts/abandoned. Knave uses them to time emails, brief the engine on what's selling, and pause campaigns on stockouts.
Billing
What are the plans?
Solo £149, Growth £349, Plus £799, Enterprise from £1,999. Agency partner: £999 (5 clients) or £2,499 (20 clients) on a 6-month commit. BYOK is available on Plus and above.
What does BYOK actually save?
If you bring your own Anthropic and OpenAI API keys, Plus drops to £599. You pay model usage directly to the provider; we charge for the orchestration, voice judge, integrations, and dashboards.
How do I cancel?
One click in Settings → Billing. Your data is preserved for 30 days in case you change your mind, then deleted. We don't have a retention department.
Troubleshooting
A scheduled post didn't go out. What now?
Check the approval queue first; the most common reason is a piece sitting in 'awaiting approval'. If it's approved and still didn't ship, check /corporate/status. If both are clean, email hello@knave.app with the post ID and we'll investigate within an hour.
Knave's voice doesn't match mine. How do I fix it?
Three steps: edit the brand profile (Setup → Brand), upload more writing samples (Setup → Voice samples), reject the next 5 drafts that miss with specific notes on why. The voice judge logs every rejection. Match rate usually crosses 90% within two weeks.
An integration broke. How do I reconnect?
Settings → Integrations → click the broken one → Reconnect. OAuth flow takes 30 seconds. If it keeps breaking, the upstream tool changed their API; email Eli and we'll patch within the working day.
Email Eli.
